Steve Ferrone

British drummer (born 25 April 1950 in Brighton, England, United Kingdom). Primarily known as the drummer for Average White Band (1975 to 1982) and Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers (1994 to 2017), as well as recording and touring with many other acts.
First performed with the band Bloodstone in 1975, then Brian Auger's band Oblivion Express. Then joined the Average White Band following the death of drummer Robbie McIntosh, until that band broke up in 1982. Performed on Chaka Khan's 1978 debut, then joined the Saturday Night Live house band for the 1985–86 season.
