US percussionist, and later a producer famed for his unique drum sounds and mixing skills. Born 23 March 1942 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA - Died of liver failure on 22 October 1994 in Denver, Colorado, USA, at the age of 52.
Founder of Jimmy Miller Productions, Inc.
Worked with, amongst many others, Blind Faith (2), Motörhead, Traffic and The Rolling Stones - who sacked him in 1973 due to his heroin addiction. Just before his death in 1994, he worked with Primal Scream. In the early 1960s he married the singer Gayle Shepherd, with whom they had a daughter, Deena Miller. That marriage ended in divorce.
