Lawrence "Judge" Riley

American blues and jazz drummer. Played with travelling New Orleans jazz bands until 1938, when he settled in St. Louis. Moved to Chicago in mid-1941 to join his friend Ransom Knowling. He introduced him to Lester Melrose, who hired them as a rhythm section for his productions.
