George Turnlund

Canadian classical viola & violin player. Born October 29, 1931, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - Died September 10, 2010, Minster-in-Thanet, Kent, England, UK.
During his musical studies in Winnipeg, he became a member of The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. In 1955, he decided to continue his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, first on the violin and later the viola. Upon completion of his studies, he joined the London Symphony Orchestra serving as Principal Viola (1957-1970). He also was a permanent member of the Haffner String Quartet, and a popular session musician.
