Burgess Gardner

American jazz trumpeter and composer, (April 12, 1936 – November 20, 2021).
Gardner played with many jazz musicians such as Count Basie, Horace Silver, Louie Bellson, and Ray Charles.
The Burgess Gardner Orchestra has performed regularly in Chicago until the 2000s.
Father of the trombonist Vincent Gardner (born in 1972) and of the trumpeter Derrick Gardner (born in 1965).
